Doron Sadja is an American artist, composer, and curator based in Berlin whose work explores modes of perception and the experience of sound, light, and space. Working primarily with multichannel spatialized sound Sadja creates hyper-emotive aural architecture.
“If Seeing Is Believing, Then Hearing Is Full Of Shit” is an audiovisual performance work exploring the phenomena of afterimage and it’s sonic equivalent, aftersound. Using a high powered RGB laser which directly converts sound into image, loud bursts of complex sound shapes are imprinted onto a large screen. Forming a one-to-one relationship between the audio and visuals, the work investigates the involuntary cross-sensory memories that they induce and the different modes of perception that this can reveal.
